Jake Barrand to play 150th 1st team game!!

This week's 1st team game will mark the 150th appearance of Jake Barrand for the mighty Tees, having made his debut back in the 2010-11 season as a 17 year old.

Jake started playing at Thurrock as an under 11 in a team that included other 1st XV players Jake Bedding, Joss Nunn & Reece Miller.

Jakes debut came away to great local rivals, Brentwood in 2011 where he came off the bench to slot a late penalty for his first points in Senior Rugby. He wouldn't have to wait long for his 1st try as he came off the bench the following week away to Sidcup to score a try and in total has racked up a massive 849 points to date comprising of 66 tries, 126 conversions, 85 penalties & 4 drop goals.

Jakes first full season in the 1st XV was the golden season of 2011-2012 that saw the 1st team win London one North with Jake making 11 appearances in a team that only lost once that season. Jake finished off that season by being apart of the Colts team that won the Essex cup.

He went on to play National league rugby over the next 2 seasons before Thurrock were relegated in 2014.

He has gone on to become an integral part of the Senior squad with his try scoring, kicking & big hits in defence a highlight of many Saturday afternoons at Oakfield and away. At only 25, there is sure to be more to see from him in the Black & White in the future years.

Congratulations Jake, from all at Thurrock Rugby Football Club
