TRFC Essex Cup defeat

Sunday 18th November was big day at Oakfield in the Essex cup for Thurrock u13 rugby boys taking on a much fancied Romford u13 side.
Early exchanges were even and it was not until the eleventh minute that the excellent Brendan Burgess opened his lungs and ran in a great try for the visitors.

Try number two for Romford arrived soon after out wide despite some tigerish tackling from Thurrock's Mason Smedmore and Seun Arowolo.

Thurrock u13 boys showed some fine spirit with the effervescent Zack Debreuk breaking the Romford defensive line to score for the Tees.
Crucially, Romford's Dave Amofah scored just on the stroke of half time to make the halftime 15-5 in the visitors favour.

Romford scored four early second half tries before Tees’ centre Zack Debreuk responded with a second try for Thurrock.

Nonetheless, u13 Tees kept on tackling and with many forays up field led by scrum half captain Jake Holding supported by his rampaging Thurrock forwards pack.
However, it was not to be Thurrock's day in the Essex Cup and man of the match Brendan Burgess capped off a wonderful individual performance to score his third and Romford's eight and final try
