Jim’s playing career included representing England in the 2001 U21 Rugby World Championship in Australia and England Saxons in the 2007 Churchill Cup.

Jim, an ex-Thurrock player has agreed to continue to support the squad after his excellent contribution last season. Jim is currently Academy Head Coach at Harlequins. Jim left Thurrock to join Harlequins and work with our then coach, Hika Reid. Hika has retained his contact with Thurrock, helped support the coaching last season and it is hoped will also provide support to Martin on occasions during this season.
Jim was named as ‘Quins Academy Head Coach in August 2017 after representing Harlequins 174 times over ten years at the Club. Since retiring in 2009, Evans initially joined the analysis and conditioning staff at Harlequins before moving in to Harlequins' Academy set up.

In 2017, Harlequins' U18s side - coached by Jim - won the U18s Academy Premiership final, with six of that winning team now involved with the full time Academy.
