Organisation: Thurrock RFC

Salary: travel and expenses commensurate with experience

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a physiotherapist for the 2016/2017 season.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the treatment and rehabilitation of players. They will also provide pitch side cover for all 1st team fixtures and tournaments, the job will involve evening and weekend work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• To appropriately treat and rehabilitate injured players.

• Manage the provision of appropriate medical for training sessions and fixtures.

• Work closely with the director of rugby, coaches and other support staff to ensure the maintenance and / or return to fitness of injured players.

• Complete regular player screening and profiling in order to issue specific injury prevention education and prehab plans to players.

• Within the rules of professional confidentiality liaise with athletes, parents, coaches and other support staff.

• Maintain comprehensive medical notes.

• Maintain an updated spread sheet of player injuries and expected return to play to feedback with coaches and support staff.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

Essential:

• BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

• Member of the CSP and registered physiotherapist with the HCPC

• Have completed MSK and Orthopaedic student rotations

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team

• Valid first aid certificate - preferably sport specific

Desirable:

• MSK experience within the NHS setting

• Experience working in sport / rugby

• Completion of the RFU ICIS course

• Trained in Acupuncture
