Thurrock made the short trip along the A13 to Gale Street the home of Barking and came away with a bonus point win. A much deserved victory which Thurrock dominated apart for a 10 minute second half spell when they conceded 2 converted tries and the game was much the same as the previous week and led 33-3 with twenty minutes to go until changes to personnel caused disruption to the Thurrock team. But on to the positives, at least from the visitor’s perspective of the game, early drizzle made the ball slippery as Thurrock faced the elements, two well taken Tom Worsfold penalties put Thurrock ahead and then a moment of mercurial rugby involving the Thurrock back three, good interchanging between, Troy Michie and Trent White gave the final pass to Fraser Kidd who sprinted in to the corner from fully 40 metres, Worsfold was wide with his conversion
Barking hit back with a penalty of their own but just before half time debutant in the back row Kevin Everitt was on hand to go over just wide of the posts Worsfold added the extra’s and Thurrock led 1803 at the break.
Thurrock were on the offensive from the start, an early Worsfold penalty increased the lead, the Jamie Hulse went over followed by Bradleigh Retigan working on a line out move to score, Worsfold was successful with his conversion attempt for the former but struck a post for the Retigan try.
It was then that Barking had their best spell of the game with 2 converted tries, but Thurrock regained their composure to finish the game camped on the Barking line but were unable to add to their earlier scores.
This week Thurrock are Home to TRING who are currently leading the table on points difference, means they have to ensure they have no second half lapses against a team that will make them pay
