THURROCK 18
OLD PRIORIANS 18
Thurrock faced injury time heartbreak as the visitors ran a penalty on the last play of the game they kicked high to the corner and the winger got the catch and fed his support to score under the posts making the conversion simple and a score bringing the scores level with the last kick of the game.
Thurrock were dominant in the scrums and had plenty of possession but they could not turn it into points, prop Charlie Currie was on hand to run in and score after 12 minutes, then against the run of play the visitors drew level with their first meaningful attack when prop Djedje went over close to the posts, luckily for Thurrock the conversion went wide. It stayed at 5-5 for much of the half but a hit off of the ball unseen by the referee to fly half Tom Worsfold meant he played no further part, but Trent White stepped and landed an injury time penalty to give Thurrock an 8-5 half time lead.
Thurrock continued in the same vein and the visitors kept spoiling and using the fine margin offside line to their advantage, it was the visitors who had three penalty attempts from Simpson to put them first level then in lead, in-between Thurrock see a penalty come back off the post.
Freddie Russo then put Thurrock back into the lead after a mighty forward effort White added the conversion from the touchline and then a penalty to increase the lead to 18-11. It looked enough but the heartbreak was yet to come
