THURROCK 14
CHOBHAM 16
Thurrock snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as deep into injury time Thurrock took the lead at 14-13 with a Jake Barrand penalty which seemed that it would be enough to secure a much-needed victory, but from the resultant kick off Thurrock made a mess of the restart coming from an offside position the visitors converted the penalty with 30 seconds left to leave both players and fans wondering what just happened.
Throughout the game Thurrock looked the most likely, although conceding a try very early on through a catch and drive in the corner, which was well converted and Thurrock were 7-0 down within the first 5 minutes.
But a try from Nathan Farrell closed the gap and 2 successful Barrand penalties earned Thurrock an 11-10 half time lead, following the visitors adding a penalty with the last kick of the half
As the score suggests the second was a tense affair, Chobham regaining the lead with 10 minutes remaining at 13-11,
Then came the exchange of penalties giving the visitors a 14-16 victory
Another game of yet to give Thurrock their reward for their endeavour let’s hope we can turn it into victory on the road at London Cornish this week
