THURROCK 20
CHICHESTER 10
For the third consecutive Saturday the rain came and Thurrock despite numerous injury problems reversed a heavy defeat at Chichester earlier in the season. The visitors arrived a little late but they dominated the match for the first 20 minutes with only resolute defence keeping them at bay. Thurrock gradually grew into the game and started to link the phases together and started to pin Chichester in their own half. The pressure finally paid off when Chris Shorter was bundled over the line, Jake Barrand added the conversion. Chichester came back and from a catch and drive they reduced the deficit to 7-5 at the break
The opening minutes of the 2nd half started with Thurrock looking the most likely to score. However, it took 20 minutes and a piece of brilliance from Sonny Gay as he tiptoed down the line and out paced the cover defence to score with Barrand adding the conversion
Barrand extended the lead with a penalty to 17-5 before the visitors scored their second unconverted try to keep tension on the Thurrock faithful but Barrand's second penalty gave them breathing space and a much deserved win
