The Thurrock first string maintained top spot on point’s difference in London 2NE after another good win at Oakfield Thurrock took the lead with an Earl Gorman penalty.
Gorman added another close range penalty to restore the Thurrock lead, and when Enfield tried to run the ball wide out, Thurrock capitalised on a mistake when Ben Stanley made a terrific break and fed Sam Porter who made no mistake to score under the posts, Gorman added the conversion.
But Thurrock still had time to transgress giving away a penalty in front of the posts which Wilson converted to make the score 13-8 at half time.
The half-time team talk seemed to make a big difference, to the attitude of the Thurrock players, who were able to start putting phases of rugby together, and back row Bradleigh Rettigan showed his outstanding pace to score close to the posts, Gorman converted, it was then Sam Porter who added his second again for Gorman to convert.
Rettigan added his second and then Ben Timson scored close to the posts, both tries converted by Burns who resumed his kicking duties when coming on the field.
This week Thurrock travel to Mersea Island, coach leaves at noon.
