Saffron Walden v TRFC U16s - 8th January 2017
First game back after the break, without 10 players due to Essex and injuries, Ts travelled to Saffron Walden for their 3rd encounter, with the history tied at 1 win a piece.
Ts proved a match for the Walden side holding the score to 12 - nil at half time, with a couple of sloppy missed tackles letting the home side in twice.
After the break, Walden brought on their stronger players, only having a couple at Essex training, they had County players available from their Northampton set up, which made all the difference as they ran Thurrock ragged!
Some poor attempts at tackles let Saffron Walden run in a further 8 unanswered tries.
Thurrock may have been on the end of a bit of a battering, but they showed great spirit, in parts, with 2 or 3 strong performances, vying for a place in the 22 for next weeks cup game away to Clacton, with a place in the 2nd place Essex Final.
