Woodford v Thurrock

Due to some last minute sickness/ Injuries, we went to Woodford with just 13 players! Woodford kindly offered us additional players but Thurrock decided to go it alone. The first 10 minutes was outstanding from the depleted team and you wouldn't have known we were short but eventually Woodford over stretched us and with a great run, went through to gain the first try with a second shortly after. All credit to Thurrock because they acknowledge where our weaknesses were and came out fighting and got there reward, a good offload from Tommy Ray to put Tomiwa over the try line. Woodford continued to stretch us and scored a couple more converted tries

The second half you would have thought Thurrock had 16 players on the field with some great attacking runs from both teams but more than anything some great defending from Thurrock. with a couple of long spells in the Woodford 22, Harry Wielman broke through and scored then shortly after, with a line out close to the home teams try line Finlay Bullen also used his strength to muscle over and score.
The final try was through more of the same spirit but now with the Woodford team begging to crack and tire, Emmanuel Philips found his way over which Ed Suddell converted.

Man of the Match was hard because all the boys played out of their skins but Jake Holland consistently gave us a good platform to work from by turned over most the Woodford scrums which meant we could continue with attacking the Woodford team. -Great performance Jake and all of the boys. You did yourselves and the club proud.
