Thurrock v Maldon

With Thurrock now back up to full strength, the lads were confident of giving the league 1 visitors a good match and they didn't disappoint! The game was fairly evenly matched to start with and some good ground made by both teams but while in the T's half, an opportunistic chip and chase over the top of our backs landed directly into a Maldon players hands to give them the first points on the board. Shortly afterwards though, the T's turned a ruck over and with some quick hands the ball landed in Euan Cunningham - Wood's hands who opened up his legs through the Maldon defense and scored under the posts to make the score 7 all at half time.

The second half was very tight with both teams applying pressure but equally the defense of both teams was enough to keep the scoreline unchanged. Thurrock finished the match on a high and left the field with their heads high, with all of their hard work beginning to pay off.

This weeks Man of the match goes to Oli Webb for some great defensive tackling but also growing in confidence when taking the ball forward. Well done Oli.
