T's V Chelmsford

Good to welcome Chelmsford back to Thurrock.

We were determined to give them a tough match with the boys needing to put their hard work at training into their game. They started the game well and applied a good spell of pressure on their opponents and it wasn't long before Tomiwa crashed over the line to get Thurrock's first. Joseph Kelly slotted the conversion. Chelmsford came back strong and tested the T's defence but we were able to hold out and clear our line.

Good spells of attack and defence from both teams kept the scoreline close all the way through. A chip by the Chelmsford No10 was gathered well by their centre who touch down to get them on the score line, or so we thought, but the ref had spotted their backs offside and disallowed the try. Thurrock had a good break out afterwards from Harry T who took us deep inside the Chelmsford half where we stayed and with some good work from our forwards, Harry White powered over the line with 15 players behind him to score our second try.

The Man of the Match was Mason Nunn who showed true commitment to the team both on and off the field.
