2nd row becomes 10th player of current squad to hit the 100 cap mark

This Saturdays game against Dartfordians will mark the 100th appearance of Tani Loka in the Black & White of Thurrock.

The monstrous Albanian made his debut away to Saffron Walden in April 2010 having joined from local rivals, Barking. The team went on to win London 2 North East as well as the Essex Cup.

Tani went onto establish himself as a key member of the team as they would later win London 1 North in 2011-2012 and gain promotion to the National leagues.

Having been a stalwart in the side for 5 seasons, Tani moved to Brentwood for a change of scenery in 2015 before moving again to South Woodham Ferrers and was apart of their team that won promotion to London 1 North for the 2017-2018 season.

Having been away for 4 years, Tani returned to Thurrock in March 2018 as he contributed to the 3 wins against Sevenoaks, Tottonians and Old Colfeians that helped stave off relegation. He also scored the decisive try as we beat Old Colfeians to secure our safety and has been an ever present member since, missing only 1 game.

When speaking about his time at Thurrock, Tani had the following to say "I've loved every minute of it, met lots of good boys and made friends for life. The buzz that I get playing rugby for Thurrock I did not get playing for any other team. When I left it wasn’t an easy decision to make but one that I had to at the time. I have been more then happy since I've been back and have enjoyed a lot of the games that I’ve played".

I'm sure you will agree that Tani has been a great servant to Thurrock over the years and we look forward to seeing him putting on the Black and White stripes for plenty of games to come. Congratulations Tani.
