Essex side Thurrock made the long journey to Camberley for the fifth match of the London 1 South campaign.
From the kick off Camberley started strongly with the forwards soon making their impact. Slick passing by the backs saw the first try after 6 minutes for the hosts. The visitors soon fought back with some good attacking moves so that after 14 minutes they had converted two penalties both from Jake Barrand to be 7 – 6 down.
This spurred Thurrock on and they saw due reward after 20 minutes as a clever chip ahead saw the back row Joss Nunn outpace the defence to score in the corner, Jake Barrand was just wide with the touchline conversion. Camberley then took some territorial control towards the end of the half and saw a penalty converted to leave the score at 10 – 11 in Thurrock's favour headed into the break.
The 2nd half was a completely different affair with Camberley scoring 40 unanswered points. Thurrock were ripped apart at times but still had the confidence to do the same to the hosts. T's managed to cross the line twice through both Tom Pool & Ben Stanley but both times, the ball was lost in contact trying to ground.
this week T's are at home to Havant. Kick off at 3pm
