Late Break from Retigan seals Victory in tricky encounter!!

Thurrock made the short journey to Bexley to face newly promoted Dartfordians' who sat one place above them in the league table.

T's started the 1st half strongly and dominated possession and territory, quickly taking a 6-0 lead following 2 penalties from Jake Barrand. They continued the dominance of the game and scored a great try through Tom Pool following some quick thinking from Joss Nunn. The try was converted by Barrand leaving the score at 13-0 and T's looking on for a good away win.
This seemed to galvanise the home team though, who started to keep the ball in their forwards and make inroads into the Thurrock defence. They got onto the scoreboard through an unconverted try through a driving maul and the half finished 13-5 to Thurrock.

The home team came out all guns blazing in the 2nd half but solid defence from Thurrock kept them out. T's had Chris Shorter sent to the sin bin 10 minutes in following some handbags but another Jake Barrand penalty looked to settle the nerves by giving some breathing space on the scoreboard. Dartfordians stuck to their guns though and knocked over 2 penalties of their own to bring themselves within a losing bonus point.

Dartfordians then fell foul of the referee as a blatant slap down from the home wing when T's were odd's onto score saw him visit the sin bin. T's pressed and had Brad Retigan to thank when he spun through a gap and sprinted in to touch down by the posts. Barrand with another successful kick.

The home side continued to show their never die attitude and scored a converted try straight from the restart after Thurrock had fumbled the kick off

The home side thought they had stolen a well deserved losing bonus point but gave away a penalty deep into injury time. Jake Barrand slotted his 6th successful kick from the tee to seal the win for Thurrock.

This week Thurrock are back at Oakfield as they host Chichester
