A scratch side won an epic battle against East London Seconds...

An awesome performance by the home side produced a deserved win to see them through to the final at Westcliff next Saturday.

Despite being left in the lurch by certain individuals who didn't turn up and let the side down, Ts produced a performance of grit and determination to win a close battle by 8-3.

Credit must go to every player on the day, the pack who worked tirelessly throughout the game and the backs who all defended tenaciously.
The back row of Kevin Everitt, Dean Munke and Ahmed Aminu were simply awesome and constantly disrupted any possession that East London had, which wasn't much; the breakdowns were fiercely contested. The front 5 dominated throughout, with some tremendous scrummaging that prevented the opposition from gaining a foothold in the match. Second rows Reece Levy and Christian Cunningham-Wood carried and tackled their hearts out, while front rowers Paul Cooper, Matthew Murphy, Greg Toohey, Taylor Bramley and captain Ant Pease grafted hard and powered the opposition backwards throughout.

With several playing out of position, the backs kept Ts in the game at times with some powerful tackles and resolute defending. Dan O'Flaherty and Dan Ulph operated well at half back and centres Arron Crooks, Ollie Jenner and Danny Holding all carried and tackled superbly. Wings Neil Jay, Ian Farrell and George Pavitt also tackled and carried well, while full back Matthew Ulph cleared up well at the back and at times kept us in the game.

All in all, an immense effort and colossal performance from a committed bunch of people who all deserve a massive pat on the back, well done lads!

Many thanks to the players who turned out at short notice and made the difference between winning and losing, including Nick O'Neill and Jack Bridger, who unfortunately didn't get on and also those at the club who helped in contacting those players at short notice.

And thanks to Debs, who always does a great job for us, but was particularly busy today.

Also, many thanks to East London, who played the match in good spirit and gave us a huge battle.
