A horrible rainy day at Hove saw the T-Birds get off to their usual terrible start at high flying Hove, conceding a try in the opening five minutes of the game.
T’s then pulled themselves together and having weathered the early storm, started to put Hove under pressure. A few good chances were spurned but eventually a kick through from a loose ball on the floor saw ‘Crash Test Dummy’ Sophie Tyler outsprint the defence to touch down extremely close to (some say over) the dead ball line.
Hove re-took the lead after a drive from their huge pack, saw the considerably proportioned No8 go over for 10-5 at half time.
T’s turned around at half time with the wind and with the rain now in Hove’s faces. Surely an equalising score would be a formality.
However, Hove’s fifteen tackled heroically and despite being pinned in their own half, and mostly their own 22, for the whole half, they succeeded in holding out wave after wave of T-Birds. Attacks.
