On Sunday, the Thurrock u13’s had the honour of gracing the first team pitch for the first ever time.

The pre match team talk was about not letting any team come to our house and take the shine away from playing on the
hallowed turf.

Thurrock were straight on the front foot with some strong rucking and ball
carries from Cameron Mandy and Joe Bailey. Adam Seedat broke the line with a lung busting run to dot down for a deserved lead. Thurrock were straight back on the front foot with some strong ball carries, with Woodford putting more players into the break down the space opened up on the wings and from the next break down Thurrock got the ball wide for Jack Thorp to run in for a try.

Woodford then answered back with their 10 who was having a strong game with a great individual try. Thurrock then fired back with Adam Seedat and Jack
Thorp starting to form a great understanding and Jack’s support play helped him touch down again. Woodford then touched down twice after some good play to bring the scores level.

With five minutes before half time some strong work from the forwards won Thurrock a penalty. Some quick thinking from scrumhalf Logan Silk who tapped and went and with Woodfords defence still trying to organise he ran in uncontested. H/T 20-15.

With the halftime chat still ringing in the players ears Thurrock started getting the ball wide and Jack Thorp scored a quick fire double. Woodford then fired back with their 10 again with some individual skill. The returning pair of Max Ballard and Christian Hayers after injury decided to take a quick restart and a perfect kick by Max for Christian to run in a try after a
great pick up. Adam Seedat then went on another of his strong runs bumping defenders off to dot down. Thurrock again put the pressure on and forced Woodford into a kick from their red zone and a great pick up from Robert Hicks who kept his wits about him to off load to Christian Hayers who ran in for his second of the day.

Woodford had the last word with some
strong forward play to bundle over for the final try of the game.

final score 45-25
