Thurrock U9s play their first ever contact match on Sunday Away at Wanstead RFC. This is the first time they will play Wanstead and will be the first time they are tackling, having only played tag rugby previously at U7/8s. They have been training their safe tackling technique – hitting Tackle Pads, Sausages, Doughnuts and each other all through September and are now raring to employ their new skills in a match scenario.

A lot of work has also been done on defensive lines and basic passing skills this pre-season so this will be a good opportunity to practice these skills also.

We have a full squad of 20 available for match day which is an excellent turnout. It will be interesting to see where Thurrock U9s are against their peers at other age groups.
