Thurrock's Under 10s travelled to Woodford for the first time on Sunday having regularly met the side in festivals throughout the previous age groups.

T's were also sporting their Brand new match shirts, kindly donated by our sponsors at Transfennica.

Young George Leeks led the team out in the first of 3 games for the boys in "Black & White". Thurrock usually take a game or 2 to get going on these cold wintery mornings, but that was not the case on this day. An enthralling end to end game saw Thurrock score 5 great tries. Zac Goodman continued his recent try scoring form by finishing well following some hard running by Charlie Timson. Sonny Campbell then grabbed his 1st try of the season as he was reminiscent of a young Jonah Lomu storming down the wing to touch down in the corner. Thomas Rumsby was next to score as he scored a trademark try, powering through numerous tackles before sprinting down the wing to score. Captain George Leeks then scored a fine solo try as he took a fine pass at the restart to side step his way past every defender, taking them all to right of the pitch before changing his mind and running back through all of them to score in the far left corner. The final try for T's in the 1st game when to the impressive Jack Power. Having tackled everything that moved, he was rewarded with a great try as he powered his way over the line and finished with a forward roll.

Charlie Thornton led the team in the 2nd game. The boys tired slightly having gone straight into this game following the first. Thornton continued on from his impressive display against Chelmsford the week before by making some impressive tackles and running. Rex Masaya has been a revelation since joining only a few weeks ago and his cannonball style of running was causing the opposition problems all morning as well as his bone crunching defence. One such hit prevented a certain try in the far corner. Ben Harper continues to show his skills and footwork as he made valuable metres before the ball was reset and moved wide for Thomas Rumsby to score his 2nd try of the morning. T's next score was a typical finish from Joshua Weale. The young power house burst through some would-be tacklers before gliding past the remaining defenders to score a fine try. Ts 3rd and final try of the 2nd game saw George Leeks grab his 2nd try of the morning as he took a quick ball and sprinted for the corner to dot down.

Zac Goodman led the boys out for the 3rd & final game and was rewarded with a hatrick of tries. Solid tackling from all of the boys, admirably led by Oliver Wall who was playing like a boy possessed saw T's continually turn over possession. Jaxon Stanley was starting to get some good go forward and was only thwarted from scoring his first try of the season by a last ditch tackle in the corner (These kids love scoring in the corners). There was more hard hitting defence from the likes of Weale, Masaya, Rumsby & Power whilst some amazing work at rucks from Harper & Campbell allowed Ts the platform to put Goodman into space to grab his 3 tries.

The boys put in a massive shift this week in their 3 games and can be proud of each other and the work they are doing to improve their game.

"Player of the week" went to Jack Power for his tremendous work rate, non stop tackling and Warrior attitude.

This week's TREDS laces went to Rex Masaya who, having noticed a slightly upset Power, put an arm around him and made sure to cheer his fellow team mate up
